Taiwan's HTC to Build New Plant in Shanghai

According to an AFX News report, Taiwanese Smartphone and PDA phone maker HTC (High Tech Computer) recently announced that it plans to build a new plant at the Shanghai Pudong Kangqiao Industrial Zone. The company's board has approved an investment of US$15.5 million in this new facility, covering construction cost and equipment expenses but not including land price. Operations at the new plant are slated to start in the second half of 2008.
